London 2012 torch relay

If you travel to London in 2012 you might have a chance of being a part of the Olympic Games next summer. One of the most attractive activities before the start and the most expected in the opening day is the Olympic torch ritual. As you all know the torch will pass through various places, carried by numerous  people for everyone  to see and become a part of the Olympic experience.

The London 2012 torch makes no difference.  The London 2012 Games Organizers have preset the places the torch will pass next year. The journey will start on the 19 May, will pass 1018 places and will end its journey on the 27th of July 2012 for the opening ceremony.The whole distance covered will be around 8000 miles, in different places all around UK and it will have around 8000 torchbearers.

Olympic chair Sebastian Coe declared: “We originally started out by saying 95% of the population would be within an hour’s journey of the route – we now have that as within 10 miles.“

One interesting aspect is that London 2012 torch will be transported multiple means of transportation including train, tram, boat, and bicycle. Some of the most interesting places that the London 2012 torch will visit are Loch Ness, Stonehenge, Giant’s Causeway and Thames River. So if you plan on traveling  to London in 2012 make sure you check out the London 2012 torch path and maybe catch two rabbits at once.
